Grandma’s Banana Bread

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 heaping cup ripe bananas
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 scant teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Cream sugar and shortening together. Add egg, bananas, flour, soda and salt. Bake 1 hour in slow oven at 350°F, or 45 minutes at 350°F and 15 minutes at 300°F.
